With an extensive mechanical and off roading knowledge, the time has come to slowly shift our attention to better and simpler solution. That is why we are now offering a portal kit that is completely bolt on.
Our Tornado portal kit will provide you the boost needed for your vehicle. The Tornado portals will give you additional ground clearance. You will also be able to mount larger tires without lifting the vehicle and changing its geometry.
The materials we use are a combination of aluminium and steel, both high grade. The steel of course, undergoes a thermal treatmet to extend its durability and strength even more.
Even though the Tornado portal kit is bolt on, it requires lots of knowledge and experience to mount. That is why we also offer complete Land Rover new axles equipped with our kit.

WHICH CARS CAN BE EQUIPPED WITH YOUR PORTAL KIT?
At this moment we offer Tornado portal kit for Land Rover axles. This kit will fit the following vehicles:
• Discovery 1 and 2
• Land Rover Defenders
• Side note: Land Rover 110 has a different axle in the rear, but the mounts are the same as other axles so our kit can be put on a 110 too without messing with the mounts and existing geometry. You will need an axle from one of the vehicles above though.
WHY IS YOUR KIT SO SPECIAL?
Because it is a different design compared to other manufacturers. There are no 4 gears in the portal housing, there is only two. We all know the success of our Volvo TGB portal reinforced parts. Well we used this experience, material and design and converted it to a bolt on portal kit.
The kit is consisted of the following:
• Set of (4) portal housings with each and every single part reinforced and custom made. Disc brakes and HD CV joints included.
• Reinforced halfshafts
• Air locker
• Reverse rotation ring and pinion
• All orings, bearings, seals etc. Everything high quality, no Chinese stuff.
So basically you get a full axle completely reinforced, but with a bonus – portals. Remember, the kit weighs much less than the one with 4 gears in the housing.
HOW MUCH GROUND CLEARANCE WILL YOUR KIT OFFER ME?
The portal kit itself offers 11 cm of additional ground clearance without replacing your tires. To achieve this on a flat axle, you would have to replace your existing tires with tires 8 inches larger (lift needed). Bear in mind that the Tornado portals will actually allow larger tires (without a lift) to raise your vehicle even more and get more ground clearance (if needed).
No calculations needed, just know that whatever you do on your (flat axles) car regarding ground clearance, our portal kit can do better.
WHAT IS THE MAX TIRE SIZE I CAN USE?
There is a lot to consider here, but the portals have been tested with 37 inch tires and there was no sign of possible defects, cracks or failures.
Everything works like a charm and the purpose is off roading so this is what it was made for.
WHAT ARE THE RATIOS AVAILABLE?
Since the ratio of a portal axle is a combination of both the ring and pinion and the reduction in the portal housing, we must forget about the ratio in a flat axle, which is very simple. Total ratio of a flat axle is identical to the ratio of the ring and pinion. But in a portal axle it is a combination with the portal housing.
The ratio in the portal housing is 1:2. And this ratio is fixed, we do not play with that, we found the optimal solution possible.
The ratio of the axle equipped with our Tornado portal kit is 6:1. This is with a ring and pinion 3:1. By replacing the ring and pinion to 2,5:1, the ratio of the axle can be changed to 5:1.
NOW THE BIG QUESTION, WHAT IS THE COST?
Well lets put it like this. Lets say you want 4 inches of additional ground clearance (equivalent to our portal kit) and you want to reinforce your axle with performance parts. By doing some research online, we see that it would cost you around 6000-7000 euro (and probably more). Don’t forget, reinforced parts (halfshaft, ring and pinion, locker, cv joints and disc brake conversion) and a lift that would probably require changing the arms, extended brake tubes and so much more.
Bear in mind that this will only give you an opportunity to mount larger tires, it will not give you actual ground clearance without changing the tires. So you need more money to buy the tires too.
In a Tornado portal kit you will get both the lift (which will actually be real ground clearance) and upgrades for your axle (ring pinion, halfshafts and a locker). Your axle will now also be equipped with stronger CV joints and top quality disc brakes.
And you don’t even need to change the tires to get the desired ground clearance. The car will look silly though, so please put bigger tires anyway.
Based on that, we really think a price of 9200,00 € (without tax) is more than just fair.
